Vinyl flooring has been around for a long time. The oldest type of vinyl, linoleum, has been in existence for over 150 years! If you haven't seen the new styles and colors in vinyl then you may be in for a surprise!
Vinyl is the name given to products like linoleum, vinyl, rubber and similar products because of the flooring's solid nature and its ability to flex or "give" a little when walked on. What we used to call sheet vinyl now comes in interesting designs and 12-foot widths which eliminates the seams.
Vinyl flooring can now deliver the look of upscale ceramic, wood and intricate designs in stone and marble. You can get a full range of finishes and looks which are embossed and printed with such precision that they look and feel like the materials whose images they portray!
For protection, vinyl flooring is being made with urethane including aluminum oxide particles which are the same tough topcoat used in wearlayers for woods and laminate in recent years. This makes these new vinyl floors easy to clean up and resist scratching.
Luxury tile is at the high end of vinyl flooring. It has high performance and high fashion. New designs in luxury tile include everything from contemporary colors, vivid brights, pearlized finishes and abstracts with soft patterns. Other looks are exotic and distressed woods, colored concretes and fossilized stone plus metallics, rich colors and wide planks!
Luxury tile can perform better than wood and stone! Luxury tile never needs refinishing, will not warp due to excessive water, resists scratches, remains quieter to walk on and is warm to the touch.
Vinyl can be installed just about anywhere, but especially in wet areas, children's or handicapped rooms where an easy-to-walk-on surface is must. Also in niche areas like an entry and in areas where you don't want seams and want an easy-to-clean floor.
This flooring requires only basic maintenance. Spills and messes are easily wiped up. Regular sweeping and occasional damp mopping and washing with a manufacturer recommended non-abrasive cleaner will eliminate dust particles.

Because vinyl is so easy to keep clean it's hygienic!
There are no places for dirt, grime or germs to hide
and it's skid resistant.
